The Bessie B. Colomb Collection consists of printed material, especially clippings, magazines, and pamphlets, pertaining principally to the New Orleans, La., Vieux Carré or French Quarter and other aspects of the history and culture of New Orleans. The collection includes clippings from the Vieux Carré Courier, Transit Riders' Digest, and The Bell Tel News between 1964 and 1969; a program for Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré (1966); an issue of Town & Country, an upscale New Orleans magazine (1967); an issue of Today, a news magazine containing an article on Huey P. Long (1934); and three photographs of cadets from the Louisiana State University class of 1880.

Huey Long Pierce, Louisiana governor and United States senator, was born 30 August 1893, near Winnfield, Winn Parish, Louisiana, and died 10 September 1935.
